This young male Asian Elephant is about 10 - 15 years old.
He was on his own feeding by the side of a stream in Nagarhole National Park, in southern India. It was a very misty morning and visibility was fairly low.
The Asian elephant is smaller than the African elephant, has a more humped back, smaller ears and a smoother, darker skin.
Female Asian elephants are smaller than the males and do not have tusks.
